This SimpleK12 presenter interview is with Luis Perez. Dr. Luis Perez received his doctorate in the Department of Special Education at the University of South Florida. His research focuses on experiences of students with visual disabilities, disability studies, and the application of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles to improve access for all students. She has taught both self-contained and collaborative students in grades Kindergarten through 6th grade. Melissa is dually certified in Elementary Education and Special Education. She started in the education profession as a one-on-one aide for a student with special needs, and now works as a third grade teacher at Fry Elementary School in Naperville, Illinois.
