We love polls and surveys here @SimpleK12.
While I don’t always agree with how they’re constructed (as a poll maker, you can often create a survey to get the answers you want), they give me a way to think about a topic without having to read an article or section of a book.

Would like to ask for your help.
We’re looking to make our EdTech UNconference better.
So, whether or not you’re a presenter or an attendee at the UNconference, please let me know what you think, by responding to our poll below.
Right now, the UNconference has several key components which are, in no particular order:
1. Online learning… about 1,000 hours of pre-packaged stuff for the introductory and intermediate UNtech teacher. (This content is geared for core curriculum — language arts, social studies, science, and math — teachers.)

In a recent article from eSchoolNews, “Six technologies soon to affect education,” the publication cites data from the New Media Consortium that says that cloud computing, collaborative learning, game-based learning, and mobile devices are set to “take hold” within the K-12 environment within the next couple of years.
Do you buy that?

You may have heard a rumor that SimpleK12 is putting on its very own EdTech UNconference. We still can’t release all the details, but due to my overflowing enthusiasm for UNconferences, I can’t resist talking to you about it!
So far all we’ve talked about is our “Call for Presenters EdTech Leaders”. I wrote about it in my first SimpleK12 blog post ever, The Beginning of the End: Traditional EdTech Conferences are Dead. For now the UNconference’s website, http://www.edtechunconference.com, is mostly information for possible presenters.

I was reading an article yesterday on eCampus News titled, “Are today’s students addicted to social media?” They conducted a study in Maryland where students went 24 hours without TV, cell phones, MP3 players, and laptops. Students reflected afterwards, expressing feelings of isolation, aggravation, and frustration.
