What is EdCamp?
EdCamp, a new grassroots movement happening all around the United States, is something you don’t want to miss. This movement is spreading like wildfire, quickly transforming the way teachers learn. So grab your teaching bag and thinking cap because now is the time to get involved.
EdCamps should not be confused with traditional education conferences; these are events organized by local groups of educators who strive to create an UNconference environment that encourages participant-driven discussions in an informal area. There are several benefits of attending EdCamps, including: free attendance, flexible agendas, group brainstorming sessions, local networking opportunities, and much more!
The SimpleK12 team recognizes the value of these UNconference initiatives and is proud to play a role in sponsoring EdCamps throughout the United States. We are very excited to announce that our next EdCamp to sponsor is Cincinnati! As door prizes, SimpleK12 will be donating FREE passes to the year-long EdTech UNconference! This is the first 100% online technology UNconference for teachers – a perfect compliment to the EdCamps. This will allow EdCampers, who are looking for new and exciting alternatives to expand their learning, to connect, learn, and share 24/7/365. (Psst: take the tour for the EdTech UNconference to see for yourself!)
EdCampCincy, the very first UNconference for educators to be held in the Greater Cincinnati area, will create a powerful learning experience through dynamic conversations about learning in the 21st century. By attending, people are guaranteed to learn something new, meet other motivated educational enthusiasts, and receive information that can immediately be applied in the classroom and professional life!
