I’m surprised Webster’s Dictionary with voice entry isn’t on this list. It’s a great ap to use with students while they are editing their writing!
Wonderful set of tools… I guess everyone has a favorite and is looking for their next favorite. Steve, check out Socratic… all you need to make this useful is a second computer. It is a web based quiz delivery app that is free. I’ve used it for a month and it is great. Several you’ve posted I am looking forward to using. Thanks
Thanks SimpleK12 for posting this!! If you would like the links to all of these apps, I have posted them on my blog. http://www.teachwithvideo.com/blog/2011/09/26/ipad-app-share/

You’re welcome! Thanks so much for letting us share these apps with our readers.
Love it! Its amazing how the iPad can do all these things. I sometimes wish I could go back to school just to be learning with an iPad! Could I suggest MacJournal – for lesson planning and keeping a record of teachers lessons, emails, meetings etc. It syncs to a desktop version as well.

Hello!
Thank you for sharing the iPad apps! They are very useful for me! I am a teacher, although I do not have access to iPads for my students in school. I have an iPhone, so I am familiar with some apps but I could use some help in this department. I always give parents websites to great educational resources. With technology continuing to grow and change, many of my students have gotten iPads. I have had parents ask me what apps they can download to help their children at home. I talked with other teachers and parents that knew of some apps and looked up a few up on my phone. Here are some of the free apps that seemed appropriate for elementary students:
Math Apps
My math facts app
Hooda math free math flash cards
Motion math zoo
Arithmetick math
Math tappers: (has four different apps with things we are working on or will be working on in math): Multiples, equivalents, base ten blocks, probability lab
Pizza fractions
Solving maths lite
Math puppy Bingo Challenge
Language Arts Apps
K12 timed reading practice lite
Reading monster town
Aesops quest
Daily word Bingo
Studying Apps
Mental Note Lite- the digital notepad
Flash cards Free!
Flashcards +
I appreciate that you shared your list, so I figured I would add to it!
If anybody has other helpful apps, please don’t hesitate to share! It would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
